Despite the all islandwide blackout last Saturday, the Alfred Sangster Auditorium, UTECH was lit as over 1,100 patrons turned out for the 2016 Supligen/JABBFA National Championships and Fitness Expo.
Deafening screams that echoed throughout the auditorium, placards with pictures and the names of various participants and jubilant supporters cheering on their favorite athlete as they paraded on stage captured the vibes inside the venue.
The evening’s activity kicked off with MC, Jenny Jenny who kept the energy level of the patrons on a high. With ten categories for males and six categories for females over 120 ripped men and toned females paraded on stage showing their physique, fitness, body fitness, figure and bikini fitness. Every category saw the athletes giving entertaining posing routines to which the crowd responded- some with chairs being lifted in excitement.
Group Marketing Manager, Seprod Matthew Samuda said that the turnout for the event was spectacular.
“Tonight proves to us (Supligen) the love Jamaicans have for not only for bodybuilding but for health and wellness. This is something that Supligen is committed to and will continue to improve our efforts in promoting healthy lifestyle on the go,”
